Synopsis

I loved Shaun the Sheep since I was a child and I've seen the first two movies. Seeing this last one made me a bit disappointed since there was a same sex couple..... I'm glad they didn't make the same sex couple a big deal, but I wish I could've known before I watched it.…

Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom is probably not the apex of Aardman’s films, but it’s a worthy addition to the franchise. Pleasant, sweet and often very funny, it’s the kind of movie anyone can enjoy, as long as they’ve never ditched their sense of playfulness.

Filled with silly Universal Monsters-spanning imagery and nary a word of spoken dialogue, the ultra-accessible stop-motion feature provides a kid-friendly on-ramp to another genre while mostly eschewing the more obnoxious trends of modern feature animation. It’s simple, soft, and warm, like a stuffed-animal version of a horror movie: inoffensive and, to a select group of kids, likely essential.
