Moviegoers are saying
Scream 7 delivers a brutal, nostalgic return that has franchise fans torn between loving Sidney's comeback and feeling franchise fatigue. While many praise the increased gore and Neve Campbell's powerful performance, critics slam the predictable plot, underwhelming Ghostface reveal, and missed opportunities with AI/deepfake themes.

You either die a Scream or live long enough to see yourself become the Stab.

timtamtitusFeb 25, 2026As someone who has enjoyed every “Scream” film, SCREAM 7 was the first one to truly let me down from beginning (Justice for Melissa Barrera and #FreePalestine) to absurd, hollow end. The once clever tropes are now worn out, and while the brutal kills are staged well, they…

The guy sitting next to me saying “Dexter?” To the part where the dad went in the garage surrounded by plastic was the highlight of this movie.
MK likedScream 7I’ve heard people didn’t like it but I actually enjoyed it! I laughed maybe to hard on the bar scene😭 It’s kinda sad how easily you could tell that the killings was rushed Tbh, the motive was awful. I’m sad how they ai a certain character. But again, I still enjoyed the movie
Lina dislikedScream 7boycott. franchise ended with the carpenter sisters

Zionist company and using ai in this film? Disgusting not even worth pirating
Jvss dislikedScream 71/5 ⭐️. HIGHLY disappointed, without spoilers the ending was trash and the plot was even MORE TRASH! please stop making more screams.. let the GhostFace Legacy rest please, it’s truly ruining the franchise 💔 only good thing was the kills.

An entertaining watch but definitely a weaker of the movies. And soooo tired of the AI narratives in movies.
Ranj Farhad is "meh" onScream 7Disappointed, And please stop making more of thiss
zack dislikedScream 7The killer reveal and motive were underwhelming and felt rushed. No real impact. Characters had zero chemistry and no development, so nothing landed emotionally. Didn’t expect much with the behind-the-scenes drama, but this was still disappointing. 0/10

If we are being honest, all the scream movies have been predictable we know what’s going to happen- the excitement comes from guessing who the killer is going to be! This movie was no different, it was nostalgic it brought back memories and having our original final girl…

CSCaleb SmithVery shocking how much they upped the brutality of GhostFace in this one. A little iffy on the story, but definitely a standout compared to other films in the franchise. Definitely worth a watch!

Scream used to poke fun at the silliness of horror movies and laugh at the genre's clichés, but now, it’s indistinguishable from the films it once gleefully lampooned, in what is easily the worst installment so far.

The film gropes around for novel gimmicks – is the killer’s identity being deepfaked this time? – and tries to placate its fanbase with a few moments of gratuitously icky, mean-spirited gore. And goodness, it plods.

There’s only so far you can take a slasher series without doing something truly off-the-wall. Since the studio refused to attempt a radical refit, we’re left with this: a franchise-charring dumpster fire.
