Synopsis
It’s 1968 in America. Change is blowing in the wind...but seemingly far removed from the unrest in the cities is the small town of Mill Valley where for generations, the shadow of the Bellows family has loomed large. It is in their mansion on the edge of town that Sarah, a young girl with horrible secrets, turned her tortured life into a series of scary stories, written in a book that has transcended time—stories that have a way of becoming all too real for a group of teenagers who discover Sarah’s terrifying home.

This movie is just plain awful. Main character is annoying, hell every character is! No one is likeable in any sense and I was actually rooting on them to die. One good thing I liked was that SOME scenes looked genuinely scary, would i recommend? Definitely not
Brutalist is "meh" onScary Stories to Tell in the DarkIdk, it started out good, went to slowly worsen itself, I think most of the designs of the monsters were pretty cool but obviously that won’t do it all. Really wasn’t a fan of the ending.

#boring just so you will read this review!! This movie was refreshing to watch! That del toro fella really knows how to put a great flick together. I had goosebumps the whole time and it almost made me climax!

The pity is that Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark will mostly be seen by jaded genre completists and nostalgic fortysomethings. Wrong demographic. You owe it to your kids to take them to this. It’s training-wheels horror done right.

As gross and spooky and, yes, occasionally frightening as these terror tactics get, they never quite cross over into the deep end of truly grownup horror. That’s intentional, and a key to the film’s fun: It gets away with everything it can on a PG-13 leash, smuggling some real scares to the under-18 crowd.
