Synopsis
A former soldier (Alan Ritchson) is thrown into a brutal race against time when a critical medical delivery makes him and his unlikely partner (Owen Wilson) the targets of a ruthless cartel. As the mission spirals into a deadly manhunt, every detour, delay, and bullet pushes them closer to failure. With betrayal closing in from every side, they must survive the chase and deliver their cargo to save the life of a little girl.

DTDonna Tiptona bit over the top violent, even for Alan Ritchson, but the acting of Alan and Owen Wilson makes it overlookable. Some comedy, some tragedy, it is perfect for both of them. 1 star off for unbelieveable violence. Still worth seeing and worthy of 4 stars.

Runner is a paint-by-numbers action-comedy that benefits from Alan Ritchson’s well-practiced stunt craft as well as Owen Wilson’s likable comedic stylings.

At least Ritchson’s collaborators know enough to treat his physical presence like the main attraction. But it’s still hard to care when so much of Runner feels like a watery sketch for a leaner, or more focused, stunt showcase—the actual movie is never as striking as its star.
