Movie Info & Cast
Elton John’s life story is too fantastic for a down-to-Earth biography. Rocketman casts Taron Egerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service) as the celebrated ‘Goodbye Yellow Brick Road’ singer in an uncensored story that reveals all the grand highs and difficult low points of John’s five-decade career.
If you were enraptured by Bohemian Rhapsody, Rocketman will take you even further into the stratosphere, as Elton John’s story becomes the fuel for musical fantasy sequences that break the bounds of reality. Dexter Fletcher, who worked on the Queen biopic, directs. Jamie Bell, Richard Madden and Bryce Dallas Howard co-star.

Did You Know?
- James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe were considered to play Elton John.
- Reg Dwight chose his stage name after his band-mates Elton Dean and Long John Baldry, but the movie implies his new persona's surname honors John Lennon.
- John Reid: There are moments in a rock star's life that define who he is and how people perceive him as he ascends into the heavens. You lit the blue touch paper. Now we can all see you shooting light and color into the night sky. Where there was darkness, there is now... you, Elton John. You could do anything you want. You can be anyone you want. And it's going to be a wild ride.

Great movie, but often a sad one, and often because people who think homosexuality is an abomination ARE an abomination themselves.
What a great movie. Almost as good, but I think better than Bohemian Rhapsody. Music was great and the actors were spot on. A definite must see movie!!!!
What makes Rocketman a gift of entertainment that keeps on giving is the brilliance of the musical numbers coupled with the complexity of the star’s portrayal.
As a fantasia on the making of Elton John, Rocketman at the very least commits wholeheartedly to its flashy eccentricity, and for many, that will be more than fun enough.
Rocketman is so energetic that it’s possible to be swept away by its enthusiasm for putting Reg on a pedestal. Too often, though, the film just flattens you, demanding fealty to Sir Elton.
