It was decent. Good popcorn flick. More of a mystery and orgins of samara than jump scares. I rather have a story that blood and guts everywhere anyway.
I'm surprise they got away with another sequel, The Ring 2 pretty much ruin the whole Ring Franchise. but to be honest The Rings is way better than The Ring 2, almost got the same level that I'd give to the original Ring
Rings is a phenomenally distracted film, and it can’t focus on any one concept for too long.
Rings finds a couple of nice, if inconsequential, little chills.
Horror films that backstory the audience to death lose all hope of mining what’s eerie and unsettling about the unknown, and Rings is a perfect example: it doesn’t so much spread its familiar myth as dilute it.
