Atom User Reviews for Pearl
Five stars for Mia Goth. She was incredible
If you liked X, you’re gonna love and appreciate Pearl. It was just as intense and gory as X and Mia Goth was intoxicating and creepy.
I now know why Pearl hates blondes. Must see if you enjoyed X
A slasher film with a story. It has a bit of a slow pace but in a way it's nice because we learn why Pearl is the way she is. Mia Goth is killing it with her performance and yes I will be watching MaXXXine . If you liked X then you will like Pearl.
Mia Goth puts on one of the greatest performances of any actor of this generation
Mia Goth is an outstanding actress! Pearl is shot beautifully and flows perfectly! This is another winner for Ti West! I can’t wait for MaXXXine!
Great movie, go watch!
It’s a weird one but if you like movies that don’t follow the typical formula this is probably the one for you. Pearl is an interesting and confusing character and Mia Goth is phenomenal at getting her emotions across.
I have see the 1st part but pretty creepy
Not a good movie
Not a jump-scare horror flick. Does have gore but it delivered for a prequel without going over the top
ending was weird. not a good movie. 0 stars
No thank you
Great follow up to “X”. Mia Goff is INCREDIBLE in this movie. The movie kinda starts off slow but keeps turning up the creepy and crazy factor on Pearl until the end when the truth comes out. There’s a 9 minute monologue that’ll blow you away and that final shot is, well, I have no words. If you liked “X” then you need to see “Pearl”.
#slow different type of disturbing than X
Metacritic
Goth is riotously entertaining throughout, but two specific scenes, in both of which the camera rests solely on her face for an extended shot, capture the full force of her unnerving talent.
It’s a strange and beguiling film, and I’m just going to lay down my cards and say that, on the back of her all-in collaborations with Lars von Trier and Claire Denis, Goth’s presence makes any movie a must-see.
Co-scripting with her director, Goth is the standout, displaying a verbal vigor and earthiness she's been unable to tap so far (not even in movies like Nymphomaniac and A Cure for Wellness).
