These characters have such strong beliefs about love on a philosophical level but as soon as their beliefs get in the way of something (or someone) they want, they completely abandon everything they believe in. Just like people do in real life. An essential summer film.

the greatest. and yet, A TALE OF SUMMER is somehow even *more* the greatest. imagine that. i can't cycle through Rohmer fast enough, if only so I can start again and better suss out this film's place in his world.
