I had my suspicions having seen the broadway version w/ Jeremy in it whether this would live up, as the original, to everything grand the newer version is. And I was pleasantly surprised it had amazing lyrics and cinematography with better depth into the story. But Jeremy better.

A strong film with a good focus of both the music and the storyline and a great performance by everyone involved. It managed to keep me entertained from start to finish. The only thing I will say is that some renditions of the music weren’t as good as the musical though. 8.3/10!!

This is OKAY, but NOTHING and I mean NOTHING will ever beat the musical for me. This is just wayyy too boring, confusing, and no one seems actually excited to be in it. It’s just sad. I wish the actors would’ve been more hyped up, but I’m glad the musical changed everything.

Watched this movie in a music class at school it wasn’t bad but just wasn’t good you know what I mean. I thought some of the characters were kinda unique and interesting though so if your into musicals I’d still give it a watch.

I really enjoyed this movie! It helped me learn a lot about the past of working boys in New York. I liked the songs and the characters in which I later learned were real names of real boys a part of the strike in 1899!

I personally think this story line is better than the musicals as it is more detailed then the musical. The movie shows off Davi and Jacks relationship. And it give Spot more attention and many of the others too.

Good story. A lot of big dance scenes (which isn’t a positive for me). Songs aren’t the best and neither is the singing, but overall it’s still an interesting story about overthrowing the 1%.
