Joel Siegel was quoted on the back of the Godzilla (1998) VHS I owned as a kid. He said, “It’s big, it’s loud, it’s fun.” I think about that quote a lot. It’s the perfect way to describe Mortal Kombat II. No pretensions. Just fights, gore, and catch phrases. Works for me.

I’m srry but y were most of them weak af😭 Baraka was giving horror comedy. Sindel should’ve used her hair whip instead of spamming her banshee scream. Missed opportunity for Raiden to use his flying tackle move. THAT was Sonya’s man?! Jade is a snitch. RIP Cole. Siabot= Blackface

I enjoyed this film more than the first even though the overall plot in comparison isn’t as interesting as the first. Still very enjoyable with great action and Carl Urban was a great addition to the cast. There was one death that I did not see coming at all and overall the vfx looks great.

they lowkey sacrificed plot in their attempt to truly emulate the mortal kombat games, with all the references and little quips and all that. but i appreciate that they truly went all in and let things feel a little silly or over the top. i just wish the plot itself was stronger
