Synopsis
The year is U.C.0105, twelve years after Char's Rebellion. "MAFTY" has begun resisting the Federation government's tyrannical rule by assassinating its ministers. Its leader is actually Hathaway Noa, the son of Bright Noa, who fought in the One Year War alongside Amuro Ray. Haunted by past trauma, Hathaway is drawn to a mysterious girl named Gigi Andalucia, whose strange powers stir memories within him. While swayed by her cryptic words, he continues preparing for MAFTY's mission — the attack on the Adelaide Conference. Kenneth Sleg of the Earth Federation Forces prepares a defense operation for the Adelaide Conference and a plan to eliminate MAFTY and is approached by Handley Yoxon of the Criminal Police Organization with a secret proposal. As Hathaway and Kenneth pursue their respective goals, Gigi also sets off for Hong Kong to fulfill her own role.

Moviegoers are saying
Gundam veterans are split on this sequel: the visuals, Sawano's score, and the mech clashes earn near-universal praise, but the talky, bleak stretches and the protagonist Hathaway divide the room. Reviewers who know the Universal Century see a sharper, angrier chapter about inherited trauma, while newcomers mostly come away lost.

PacificMetroMay 15, 2026In some ways the complete personification of my relationship with Mobile Suit Gundam, good for most of it, but then there’s that one moment where all of earth gravity comes barreling down upon me, leaving me absolutely speechless I haven’t engaged or thought about Gundam…
MoonDweller5Sep 7, 2026a very angry movie, angry about the future and its uncertainty, the past and the sins you were forced to bear, the people who failed to uphold the values, the ones who spoke but didn't act. mind you, this anger isn't entirely directed at the wrong places but it's one that…

Jack CallinanJan 31, 2026Wait I’m one of the first people to log this? Crazy. I just wanted to see a Japanese movie while I’m in Japan and this was playing in IMAX. I didn’t understand anything that happened since I don’t speak Japanese. There was a SINGLE robot fight. The rest was just talking.…
SladeMay 19, 2026Weird, I caught the Conan O’Brien cameo, but I must have missed Anne Hathaway’s. Another anime with a movie that I’ve never heard of. And in the grand scheme of things, not awful. At least this one wasn’t a clip show movie. But The Sorcery of Nymph Circe does itself no…

Rated: 7.4/10 ⭐️ Hyped for the next UC chapter after rewatching Hathaway and The Origin. Expected just a mecha brawl, but this hit way harder emotionally. What Worked: • Murase’s direction is top-tier. The Xi Gundam’s visceral fights felt incredibly heavy to me. • Dropping SZA and Guns N’ Roses…
