A heartbreaking but also heartwarming film about companionship and friendship. This film definitely had some wacky moments that it could’ve done without but the overall beautiful story took the centre stage and somehow made those strange moments seem somewhat fitting. Superb duo.

I think the impact it had was more obvious and prominent in the early 70s but it does show Underbelly of the American Dream and the view homosexuality in the 60s-70s. I can see why one wouldn’t enjoy this movie now, mainly due to the popularization of these ideals.

Not even sure how to feel after watching this. It’s odd, depressing, and cheerful all in one. It really explores loneliness. A heartwarming friendship forms between two outcasts trying to make ends meet as they seek to live the American dream in a gloomy reality. Poor Ratso 😢

CvptvinHowdy likedMidnight CowboyTbh, this didn't need Dustin Hoffman's character. The film could've focused on Jon Voight's character solo and used his flashbacks to play a bigger part in his development. Anyways, they both gave good performances, and it's still a great film.

Even as a kid, I could see that Midnight Cowboy’s true subject isn’t decadence but loneliness...Midnight Cowboy’s peep-show vision of Manhattan lowlife may no longer be shocking, but what is shocking, in 1994, is to see a major studio film linger this lovingly on characters who have nothing to offer the audience but their own lost souls.
