the way they introduce michael jackson’s pet monkey in this, you’d think robbie williams himself was making a cameo
-ˏˋ mak ˊˎ-Apr 13, 2026What I learned from this movie: -Michael Jackson is a perfect, flawless human being who helps sick kids, donates to charity, loves animals, loves his fans, and hates violence. That’s it. Nothing else. Don’t look into it. -Michael’s brothers—the Jackson 5– are perfect,…

Crazy ✨ Captured Feelings SO GOOD! 🥹Plenty dramatic but mostly cinematic 🎆
Max William lovedMichaelI’ve been a fan for a LONG time and Jaafar Jackson sounds exactly like his uncle Michael, and he got Michael’s mannerisms down perfectly. They did skip over a few things that would’ve been nice to have been included but overall it was a great movie and every fan should see it.
Thebluemonkey69 lovedMichaelNever reading rotten tomatoes again because this movie was incredible absolutely incredible acting was perfect the directing was great it some people say it ends abruptly but it doesn’t his arc is done it’s just a riot a film u need to see on a massive scene 9.8/10 incredible

Billie Jean is not my lover!
Linus is "meh" onMichaelThe whole Movie is just a glorified Michael Jackson playlist with an incredibly mediocre story and character development. The background characters each get a confusingly small amount of screen time and no progression story wise at all. The film ends very abruptly and leaves many questions…
jam jammy jambam likedMichaelIncredibly sanitized, portraying him as an almost messianic figure. Abruptly (and insidiously) ends before the litigious nightmare began so as to not bring up his uglier side. That’s most apparent towards the end where they pad the runtime with song after song.

Great depiction of Michael’s life. Wished they didn’t focus on the relationship between his father and himself so much I really appreciated how his nephew portrayed his uncle Uncle.

When compared to the recent influx of musical biopics, this one sits somewhere in the middle; there is too little depth to elevate it to the top, but the soundtrack is too strong to let it sink to the bottom.

Setting aside the woeful omission, though, and considering the film outside the realm of preëxisting facts, as if it were a work of fiction about a fictitious character, “Michael” still counts as only a modestly noteworthy achievement, enjoyable yet flawed—because it contains other, artistic blind spots that keep the drama thin and narrow.

This is a movie terrified to explore the interiority of its protagonist, and that approach will work just fine for the fans who just want to watch an uncomplicated ramble of a movie that plays all the hits.
