    the movie is good but i have ptsd because my sister would watch this movie EVERY DAY. the amount of times ive had to see that fatass kid devour that chocolate cake is traumatizing

    I grew up on this movie. One of my all time favorites but I’m also quite traumatized by some of the scenes- I used to have nightmares of being forced to eat cake and I used to hate chocolate cake. But I have overcome chocolate cake is my favorite. Good movie but wait until like 9

Matilda doesn't condescend to children, it doesn’t sentimentalize, and as a result it feels heartfelt and sincere. It's funny, too.

A delightfully twisted fairy tale that artfully juggles broad tomfoolery and sly drollery, along with a generous serving of sight gags enhanced by special effects. Even though it's being pitched primarily at younger moviegoers and their parents, pic is exuberantly quirky enough to please almost anyone.
