The Martians aren’t the bad guys. They destroyed the political class, the capitalists, the generals, and the media so that the Earth could be inherited by service and transit workers, blaxploitation icons, gamer teens, and Tom Jones.

it is insane that I was allowed to see this in a theater at the age of 10
David SimsFeb 9, 2021best cast of all time?
SamMar 8, 2020none of this would've happened if they'd sent amy adams to communicate with the aliens just sayin

don't know what i expected here but tom jones gleefully singing 'it's not unusual' to a gathering of wild animals is the most perfect ending to a film i've ever seen
Holly-Beth @ LFFJun 28, 2025There sure were a lot of famous actors in this
James (Schaffrillas)Jan 30, 2022This is a smarter and funnier critique of the American government than "Don't Look Up" ever wishes it could be.

Vix Skeling likedMars Attacks! My dad made me watch this when I was 7 😁
Stab likedMars Attacks!I've seen it when I was 6 for the first time and I was TERRIFIED. I had nightmares for months and years later I was still too scared to watch it. I was an ADULT when I finally rewatched it again and I actually enjoyed it very much (the aliens still made me uncomfortable tho😅)
- Bennie is "meh" onMars Attacks!
So surreal, campy, and absurd! It’s a silly film that sort of feels like a string of skits rather than something entirely cohesive. Over-the-top sometimes in a fun, but other times annoying ways. Even though it was a first time watch for me, it felt so nostalgic! 6
JarBritt likedMars Attacks! It was a good watch. I’ve always seen this movie cover on a lot of platforms but never gave it a chance. There were a lot of great actors in this movie which was surprising but definitely a one and done type movie for me. Now I can just say I’ve seen it.
JJ Jet-Plane dislikedMars Attacks!funny at a few rare points, but overall fell flat for me. too many characters to create connection with so nobody to really root for. aliens were funny but behavior inconsistent. a one and done movie. 3/10

CvptvinHowdy likedMars Attacks! For a movie like this, I'm surprised by the cast it has lol. It's corny and dumb, which fits exactly what Tim Burton would make, but it's also a ton of fun.

I'm not sure what it all means, but, as in Ed Wood, Burton's visual flair and affection for the characters make it fun.

In its nothing's-quite-at-stake way, Mars Attacks! has Tim Burton's flaked-out spirit -- it makes you feel like a very knowing 8-year-old, seeing through the artifice yet believing in it at the same time.

Entertainment Weekly
Nicholson squeezes every wretched drop of buffoonery from this character, and it's distressing to watch him play an easy role for easy laughs.
