At a slight loss of words when it comes to Love Hurts. It seemingly has the right pieces, but the end result is so…baffling? Not a shred of chemistry between the characters (save Ashley and The Raven) and while I love the use of props in the Chan-esque choreography, I fear…

Will get the obvious out of the way, Ke Huy Quan is fantastic and deserves better material than this. I would die for that guy. Otherwise this is kind of a snooze fest despite being committed to practical stunts/taking cues from classic martial arts films. It’s an…

I love seeing Ke Huy Quan receiving an opportunity to lead an action-comedy. I don’t love that the film is LOVE HURTS. Sloppily assembled on nearly every level, it stumbles through action that lacks impact, comedy that falls flat, and a romance that never sparks. Are we…

Ouch. One star for the treasure that is Ke Huy Quan, another for the Property Brother’s demise.

John Wick-sploitation has been tired out and giving us diminishing returns for awhile at this point (turns out hiring a good 2nd-unit stunt team to handle your fight choreography doesn't magically save awful writing, directing and acting), but if Everything Everywhere All…

To hear that Ke almost didn't do this movie because he thought he wasn't action material would've been a tragedy. This movie was amazing. Funny in all the right places, so much great action. Welcome back to the big screen Ke huy Quan. We can't wait to see what you're going…

I really loved this movie! Exactly as advertised: amazing fight choreography, actors who you love to watch, and lots of moments that make you laugh. Also, a really great movie for Valentine’s.

Love Hurts is a prime example of what happens when a film spreads itself too thin trying to juggle multiple genres—it drops all the balls. Ultimately, it’s a forgettable attempt at blending action and romance, proving once again that genre mashups rarely deliver a knockout.

It’s such a drag to see Ke Huy Quan undermined so persistently by the script and the role handing him his first lead in a movie.

The film is startlingly earnest in its affection for Ke Huy Quan and making him play both to and against type.
