KarstenSep 12, 2019First time rewatching this since it came out. I like it better when it’s about a man confronting his younger self (and vice versa) and less when it becomes The Terminator meets the thought experiment about killing telekinetic Hitler as a baby. Still, credit to Joseph…
Matt Singeri like when bruce willis gets angry and says the time travel doesn't matter, because the time travel barely matters after that point, so that's cool.

gabe dislikedLooperi hated this ending. it’s like he KNOWS this kid is gonna grow up to be a humongous war lord who rules with an iron fist so he lets him live by pretending “i haven’t seen him grow up to be that so it’ll change” and you did what exactly to change that outcome???? 2/10

Lawndawn likedLooperI really liked it. But I think I would’ve loved it more if it stayed more focused. Going the whole plot with the young boy just felt wrong. We go from chasing Bruce Willis to waiting for him for like an hour. Even the trailer makes it seem like it’s catching him. Idk

Interesting movie. Slow at first and takes a bit to grasp the whole plot. The kid is probably one of the best actors I’ve ever seen.

For all its mayhem, runs like a mad and slightly sad machine, whirring with hints of folly and regret, and the ending, remarkably, makes elegant sense to a degree that eludes most science fictions. How to describe it, without giving anything away? Scrambled, but rare. [1 Oct. 2012, p.84]

The casting is carefully considered, as well, from Willis, whose Old Joe is even more dangerous than Young Joe, to Emily Blunt, who goes American this time and plays a young mother with a winning warmth and vulnerability.
