Did You Know?
- For the scene during "Suppertime" when Mushnik is offering Seymour a way out, director Frank Oz originally wanted to use over-the-shoulder shots. But Rick Moranis and Vincent Gardenia kept cracking each other up so he had to use close-ups.
- During "Skid Row" when Seymour walks down the alley to the gate and homeless people crawl it up and sing, there is a black man in a black beret, who, a few seconds later, when Seymour turns and runs out of the alley, is standing on the sidewalk with a bottle in a paper bag.
- Audrey II: Does this look "inanimate" to you, punk? If I can move and I can talk, who's to say I can't do anything I want?

saw the original version back in it's day. The Director cut was an enjoyable surprise!!
That original ending, though...
This is the kind of movie that cults are made of, and after Little Shop finishes its first run, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see it develop into a successor to Rocky Horror Show, as one of those movies that fans want to include in their lives.
The songs are joyful, and the plant is a foul-mouthed wonder when it begins to talk. Director Frank Oz deserves credit for staging a musical in classic form, creating nothing less than one of the year's most entertaining films. [19 Dec 1986, p.A]
