Synopsis
In this intimate story, based on the book My Abandonment by Peter Rock, Will (Ben Foster) is a military veteran battling PTSD who has been raising his teenage daughter, Tom (Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie), alone and off the grid for years in the forests of Portland, Oregon. When they are discovered living on public lands, they are moved via social services into work and housing placement. But the adjustment is not easy and may be impossible for one of them. Directed by Debra Granik (Winter’s Bone) and adapted by Granik and Anne Rosellini.

Wonderful cinematic nature and peaceful atmosphere. It was a good decision for her daughter at the end of the film, and it shouldn’t be the right for her father to keep her daughter as an emotional support for his past. This could be reality.

Although the dramatic scale of Leave No Trace is small as well, that trait should not be mistaken for insignificance. This film raises more questions than it answers, which can prove a turnoff to some viewers, but others will soak in its ambiguities long after the closing credits.
