    ☆ ☆ ☆ A very slow and very quiet film, giving it such a good eerie feel. I enjoyed it but felt it could have gone stronger at times, but overall I’d say it matched the tone of its namesake nicely. *Spoilers* I will say Anna did nothing to deserve what she got and Katherine needed to tone it down…

    i hate the story so much! gosh the abuse, the humiliation, ppl just loosing their goddamn minds, no compassion whatsoever, i understand it's a "period drama" but the misogyny was too much, ik they craved freedom & autonomy but it's rough to see it. also the movie feels eternal

    This movie is completely insane in the best and worst way possible. Florence Pugh’s acting is absolutely incredible. I could handle the father’s death, but the little boy broke my heart. Such a disturbing, brutal and unforgettable film. Truly wild.

    Probably good but I kind of hated it. The silence was so loud and when there actually was sound it just gave me even more anxiety. The plot was very unlikeable and I just didn’t care for any of it. Also very unhappy ending which just isn’t my thing

    It was so quiet, so slow, and so jaw-breaking-ly disturbing. ISTG there ain’t no triple-murder worthy sex, it doesn’t exist. This was a great movie. The “face the wall” scene is peak quiet cinematography.

    How does a scene so silent and without anything explicit leave me shocked? Because “that” scene really left me speechless. Good movie, I didn't expect that ending.

    It got really freaking dark, darker than I thought it was going to. Performances were good but I got a little confused on the story at some bits.

There’s an intriguing story to be told here, but there’s a better way to tell it. To borrow from the Bard, the spots in Lady Macbeth simply won’t wash away.

It isn't until its final moments that Lady Macbeth turns into the kind of meaningless, mean-spirited, and proudly irredeemable non-character study that likens it to, say, last year's emptily foreboding Childhood of a Leader.
