With the unfortunate exception of “Songbird,” which tried to wangle a Michael Bay movie out of the pandemic by turning the pandemic into a Michael Bay movie, the first wave of films written and shot during COVID have all been as confined as any of the people watching them…
davidehrlichApr 17, 2021That was a trip, man. Probably the tensest and Doom-iest movie I’ve seen since PRINCE OF DARKNESS, had that dreadful vibe from the start and zig-zagged effortlessly. And it’s funny, which was welcome amidst the mist of eco-mayhem and Psychotronic slasher tropes. Always…
Joe LynchFeb 2, 2021Actually really impressed by how consistently Ben Wheatley manages to take semi decent concepts and turn them into snoozefests

Clint Mansell always understands the assignment. Unfortunately, no one else did.
𝚮𝖆𝖗𝖑𝖊𝖖𝖚𝖎𝖓𝖆𝖉𝖊 🙏🏻Nov 8, 2021Wheatley is a director whose stories and direction are interesting to some extent. Unfortunately his trademarks never quite work for me, and this film which I recall received a great reception at Sundance as you can see by my rating, wasn't one of my favorites of his…
Rafael "Mister Movie" JovineJan 29, 2021Sundance 2021 - Film #15 In The Earth is an ambitiously unhinged transcendent experience that is bolstered by a stellar screenplay and exquisitely lit exteriors. Featuring Ben Wheatley at his finest, it works as an insanely experimental head trip resulting in the first…

Sundance #9 It makes no damn sense....compels me though
Sara ClementsMay 14, 2021It’s full of potential but unfortunately does not manage to live up to it. Mainly it lacks in script with a mediocore story, uninteresting characters you don’t care about. At times it feels very ‘Annihilation’ like but less thrilling and mysterious. There are some nice…

Im not sure if I would recommend but I can say I enjoyed the watch. A lot of slower parts that lead up to a rushed ending but definitely an intriguing storyline. Great use of visuals and audio to suck in the viewer. It lacks in certain areas, but it looks great and sounds great
this movie felt like it was constantly trying to say something so profound, but it never quite got the message across? I actually like trippy visuals when they enhance the story but these just felt thrown in for trippy sake, none of the acting was great either so, not much here

Lots of fun with great build up of dread and suspense in the first half or so but the final act descends into trippy chaos and the film loses its audience.
Very slow and the plot is a little confusing. Then things get weird and then they get really weird and trippy

Loved this, Joel Fry is perfect against the elements of nature and the elements living in that nature.
Loved this one! Definitely psychedelic ride, be careful of flashing lights! Really good though!
