Synopsis
Monte (Robert Pattinson) and his infant daughter are the only passengers on a dingy space ship bound for an inevitable collision course with a black hole. This hallucinogenic, fractured science fiction story from acclaimed director Claire Denis — her first English-language film — spins back through the events that led these two people to their fate.
The truth behind Monte’s voyage to the end of the solar system, and the incredible story of what happened to the ship’s former crew — and the maniacal doctor who drove them to the brink of sanity — is like a twisted and perverse riff on 2001: A Space Odyssey featuring Juliette Binoche, André Benjamin, and Mia Goth alongside Pattinson.

anthonyArriving veery fashionably late to this party BUT. This is way more brilliant than I thought it'd be. According to Denis this is her most heart-warming film and it's apparently, at its core, about love. That changed much of how I looked at this thing. She takes something…

Very disappointing. Shoves the most interesting element of the story into the final 15-20 minutes, which is a shame because it fills the remaining time with nonsense of the highest caliber. After a decently compelling start, it descends into a haphazard bombardment of…

I get the point of this movie, it’s actually pretty straightforward despite trying to be complex in its creativity which likely leads to confusion for many and why many won’t like it. I can appreciate all the symbolism but I didn’t care for much of the directors choices, so, meh
2/10 -i had such high hopes for this one… i’m disappointed -what was the reason for SA and dead dogs??? -maybe i don’t get the point of it… or maybe it’s just a bad movie -2 points only because the concept would be cool if it was done right -pointless buildup that led to nothing

Wtf. I only added this to my watchlist because of Robert Pattinson and Mia Goth being in a film together - but this is hot garbage. The acting was so bad and the story made no sense? Everyone is just dying or killing themselves for the strangest reasons. And I understand going insane, but that did…
High Life has strong, bleak visuals that feel artsy, yet pretentious. I love the idea of a philosophical sci-fi but a lot here wasn’t working for me. Just leaned too heavily into mood, metaphor, & the abstract. All the uncomfortable sex scenes don’t feel worth it in the end. 5.5

So many feelings about this movie i feel crazy. I just wanted Star Wars baby daddy Robert Pattinson, not scenes so scary I had to skip forward. This movie is vile and I wanted to gauge my eyes out, but cinematically is one of the best I have ever seen. Pls read content warnings!!
This is one of the more uncomfortable movie what I have ever seen. There is child nudity, adult sexuality, sexual abuse, weird intentions, silent cold blooded violence and so on. My expectation was so different. I expected scifi lab horror but nope This is REALLY artsy film.

A movie that can’t be explained it must be experienced.
RMRyan McCainwell. what to say. I'm an hour into it and I'm still not sure what is going on. I usually like odd movies but this is pretty boring. I bet an artsy type of person would appreciate more.
