the room was not actually green

lairdLiked this but super underwhelmed. Great gore and a few intense scenes where you really have no idea where they're going. But for a film that relies on punk as a core part of it's personality, they didn't really use it a whole lot? It just felt like a way of establishing an…

A moral tale on the hypocrisy of punk rock music. Limbs only become severed and throats only get slashed when they chase a dollar and lie in bed with nazis. There's a possible point to be made about playing an anti-nazi song in your setlist, but you're still taking their…

"We didn't do anything." A lean genre microcosm on the dangers of passivity, mostly. The punk-posturing bandmates made complicit in an act of collective hatred & violence by allowing it to fester in their scene/community/country. The best decision Saulnier makes here is…
Josh LewisMar 15, 2020I LOVE WATCHING NAZIS DIE AND THATS ON PERIOD
Erik 🎼I like when main characters die in a movie and it's not this whole long drawn out thing, it's just BOOM this guy's not in this movie no more

One of the few horror movies I’ve watched multiple times and showed numerous people. Patrick Stewart’s role in this is such a huge departure from his usual and it’s refreshing. It’s more horrifying when you consider how hopeless and grim of a situation the characters are in.
In truth, there’s nothing WRONG with this movie but it’s just mediocre. They didn’t build up any suspense and none of the scares hit like they should’ve. The movie had good bones of a good horror movie, with a decent premise and good cast but the execution was off.
Patrick Stewart role in this film is one that I never thought I would see, a villain of such calculated inhumanity. Aside from his and Anton Yelchin performances, there not much to really say about this film, aside from it being really green 90% of the run time. Solid gore aswell

8.6/10 soooo much better the second time phenomenal acting, phenomenal cinematography, everything about it is great except for how drawn out some scenes are. but it’s easy to look past. loved tiger and pat. especially tiger lolol will definitely rewatch. it’s very very good
It feels slow and fast at the same time, the plot gets forced forward. They're a struggling band so they NEED money, they go to a Nazi bar and start singing anti Nazi songs? Then a death that had nothing to do with them. It felt more like "ooh how will they escape?" Forgetful

Idk it just wasn’t my thing. It was decent but the use of dogs was a major turn off for me, the overall plot was just kinda eh, they never used several of the subplots they introduced, and is more anxiety inducing than scary. 4/10 and wouldn’t recommend personally
It got violent and intense at some times, but how I wish they made the villain more fierce and menacing.
