Synopsis

not one person in this movie reacts to their initial undeniable confirmation of ghosts as the life-changing moment it should be. every single person experiences their first ghost with the intrigue of seeing a novelty license plate

A very nostalgic recapture of the original while adding a personal flair. Grace killed is as Phoebe and Rudd brought a great amount of charisma. Writing is sometimes cringy but doesn’t suffer from the shortcomings. Fun visual effects and great character writing. 4/5

Nostalgia is fine in limited doses, but the sequel ends up feeling like J.J. Abrams directed Now That's What I Call Ghostbusters, undoing any of the goodwill established by the film's first two acts. The movie is trapped in the past so much that it might taint any potential future there might be to keep the franchise alive with these new characters.
