Moviegoers are saying
This children's film strikes a remarkable chord with young audiences, particularly girls, with multiple parents reporting their kids stayed glued to the screen throughout - including one parent noting their autistic daughter's exceptional engagement. While one reviewer flagged inappropriate content concerns, the overwhelming consensus celebrates an interactive viewing experience that had both kids and parents singing along and laughing together.

Extremely inappropriate. Sexual innuendos have zero place in a children’s movie

The movie, make no mistake, is a genial throwaway that skitters through incidents with a G-rated innocuousness that makes it perfect for a very pint-sized demo. Yet the design of it is captivating, and so, in a minor way, is the affection with which the film’s director, Ryan Crego, embraces childhood things.

It’s all harmless fun, other than the fact that parents will undoubtedly be forced to shell out money for cat ears for their children. Kraner is a suitably likeable presence and Estefan provides the requisite warmth as the grandmother.

What comes next is a case of sensory overload without substance, complete with nondescript pop songs and an array of outfits — each purchasable online! — for Gabby and the gang. Even Wiig, giving it her all as a modern clone of Cruella de Vil, appears somewhat shipwrecked amid the sugary material.
