Moviegoers are saying
Fans are hooked on the vertigo-inducing height scenes and say they spent most of the runtime on the edge of their seats, with one reviewer 'sweatin like a mf.' The sequel's tension lands for many, but the forced side stories, shaky ending, and a feeling that it's 'not necessary' keep it in the shadow of the original, which several viewers call scarier. Star ratings run lower than the enthusiastic text, so the crowd is more excited than the numbers suggest.

Maybe it’s just me, but there are times when the thought that "they had it coming" overrides the human compassion I’d normally feel seeing people in distress. Two wealthy American women, one of whom has already shown she has issues with heights, who decide to PAY to hike…

At this point, it’s not the fall that kills them, it’s the terminal stupidity of being there in the first place

Not quite as direct a hit of adrenaline as the first film, but still a compelling argument against ever climbing any higher than sea level. Expect absolutely dripping palms.

The view from the top, aided by Mann’s AI-enhanced SFX company, remains appropriately sickening. It’s enough to paper over the movie’s crazy canyons and vast gaps in logic. But it’s nothing like the real thing.

The Fall franchise might not be elevating the survival thriller to new heights, but its cheap thrills don’t leave you hanging.
