Taking a popular indie video game and turning it into an allegory about choosing fatherhood or the single salaryman lifestyle and how every small decision in life counts? Yeah this was class. Btw check out The Golden Hour Film Podcast :)
Harry BaileyApr 9, 2026The moral of the story is that kids are better at video games.
Kit LazerApr 9, 2026There are some inherent frustrations with this video game adaptation - the source material's looping nature can make the movie feel repetitive at times, and there are moments when you'll get mad at the characters for not doing something you would if you were controlling…

I wasn’t able to watch this with working subtitles so I had to raw dog it without understanding anything they were saying, and it’s still good. I could still tell what was going and the man story beats, but I just didn’t know the exchange of dialogue between the characters, I still wanna see it…
it would be a ❤️ if it werent for the ending. honestly, this movie was very true to the game, and for it to have a plot and story was honestly impressive because the game itself doesnt have any lore. i got the metaphor of it being his journey to accepting fatherhood ++

It nails the liminal horror vibe with eerie repetition and subtle anomalies, but the lack of interactivity makes it less gripping than the game. Still tense, stylish, and worth a watch.
The film pulled me into its eerie loop so effectively that I found myself guessing every tiny detail alongside the protagonist. The ending was a little bit off but thats it

Saw the world premiere at Cannes Film Festival, and it was by far my favorite thing I watched while I was there.
Paranoia’s guessing game The Psychological Struggle to Reach Exit 8 From the moment I first opened Exit 8 on my playstation, my brain began to emit an overwhelming sense of paranoia. Every second spent occupying those subway hallways or exploring each potential piece of paranormal phenomenon…
2nd rewatch: Already back in the theaters and I love this film just as much as I did the first time around. Cinematography, editing, and score along with Nino’s acting really made this film. The flood scene’s so good I still get goosebumps thinking about it. 1st watch: Films like this are the…

CRCesar RamirezThe movie wasn’t bad, just an ok film didn’t really explain much about the exit and how it got there it kinda just makes you make your own head canon I guess. The ending as meh and it felt more like an AD for getting the birth rate up in JAPAN.
ABAaron BleickBesides some over zealous acting the movie was really well made

it hits different when you’ve played the game before. i love the lore. play the game before you watch
MBMark BaltierraVery good movie!! Although I doubt it will be a box office smash, for the fact that not too many people watch foreign flicks. I thought it had a solid story and would consider it more of a dramatic suspense horror. Great concept!! I don't think it was marketed well but it…
