imagine you die and instead of eternal peace, you get stuck in a love triangle. I'd say this is the bad place
timtamtitusNov 6, 2025Fun fact: the scene at the beginning where Joan and Luke see each other for the first time isn’t in slow motion that’s just what happens when Callum Turner is on screen

The concept of going to the afterlife, getting a j*b and dating again is horrifying. Bring me back to earth as a cockroach before you do that or I be the first person in the afterlife to kill myself

Soooo goodd!! 1000/10 The story line was so interesting and real. Like what if you do get to that point where you have to make a choice? Comedic scenes and emotional scenes were so balanced, pacing was really nice and overall plot is amazing. Highly recommend watching. A FAVE!!!
waiiiiiiit this ate !! audible laughs and chuckles and groans and sighs and other onomatopoeias from the audience. olsen’s acting was a lil too breathy at the beginning but MY MANNNNNNNNNNNN. Callum Turner. AWOOGA. he does it again. i love him and id pick him every time.

8.2 - Rom-coms are far from my favorite genre, but this was about as good as I’ve seen in recent years. It’s charming & funny, with great sight gags & running bits, supported by incredible set designs & some beautiful camera work. All three leads bring something to the table, plus I’m happy seeing…
Monday surprise premiere at Scotiabank Theatre. Felt more artificial than the artificial place itself. Less than half the jokes worked. “Relax buddy it was Korea” being the highlight. Crazy how every single story beat was predictable from the start. Fun full house screening tho
This film was so good, I don’t think I’ve seen anything like it!! I loved how dramatic & relatively real it got!! Idk about y’all but I wholeheartedly believe that this would be me if I were in her situation😩🤍 other than the obvious E. Olsen, Anne was my fav character lmao😂

The film had a quirky yet serious tone at times, and it fit the overall narrative perfectly. I loved the messy feel of the afterlife without the certainty of what we should see. It gave me a Past Lives feel but more lighthearted. Randolph is awesome and I love her characters.
What an emotional roller coaster of a movie. This put Callum on the map for me his acting was phenomenal and so was everyone else’s it really made the film that much better. Very witty as well. Also explored how beautiful a long lasting marriage can be compared to young love.

Romantic Comedies are back
Metacritic
A charming Elizabeth Olsen must choose between two men in the afterlife. The trouble with this often-beguiling romp is that it takes an eternity to wrap up. Too bad no one ever learns how to quit while they’re ahead.
It’s quirky, a little unpredictable, and never feels like warmed-over leftovers. There’s a bite to things – an edginess that doesn’t cut too deeply but keeps the sentimentality in check. One of the year’s most pleasant surprises.
Hard to ding something for wanting to be a cult rom-com so badly, especially when it’s so well-acted.
