Purposeful storytelling that takes the time to craft a world without sacrificing the character development. Story is not rushed from FX scene to FX scene, which makes it feel like a slower pace compared to other MCU movies, but the cinematography keeps you engaged.
Movie was way too long, had an uninteresting and overdramatic plot. There was no theme or connection to the established universe - completely didn't feel like a Marvel movie. The actors were stoic and scenes kept dragging, do not watch!
What’s interesting about Eternals is how genuinely down to earth most of it is, rejecting the time-honoured duality of the flashy superhero who also has to contend with the banality of domestic life. This is more like reality, in that it is about coming to terms with smallness and impotence in the face of so much cosmic sprawl.
The attention to character, group dynamics and emotional texture makes the film often feel more alive in its quieter moments than its fairly routine CG action clashes. But the depth of feeling helps counter the choppy storytelling in this new tangent in the MCU narrative
These characters may be immortal, but the studio’s assembly-line predictability drains the vitality from the proceedings.
