This movie DESTROYED me. It somehow reminded me of a quote from Call Me by Your Name: "If there is pain, nurse it. And if there is a flame, don’t snuff it out. Don’t be brutal with it. We rip out so much of ourselves to be cured of things faster, that we go bankrupt…

Sydney is "meh" onEternal Sunshine of the Spotless MindThis might just be me but I didn’t love the movie because they felt like a toxic couple. The memories show that they’re frequently fighting, Clementine clearly has a drinking problem and they don’t communicate very well. It was too toxic for the relationship to thrive.

I really enjoyed this film. You can look at any relationship with this film and not just romantic relationships, and appreciate the time that was spent even if it ended poorly and you think you might want to erase it but then realize it was just worth experiencing 9.5/10

Love this movie so much!!! 💞💞 I was very excited to see it play in theaters. It’s been on my watch list for two years. I love the idea of erasing memories. Clementine and Joel relationship is very sad 😿😿 however I still love this movie.

Not only (Kaufman's) most accessible and romantic screenplay, it's his most complete. The third act works like a charm and pulls all his themes, characters and conflicts together beautifully.

The Hollywood Reporter
A wildly imaginative, hugely entertaining tour de force that asks big questions about life and love and fate while never ceasing to fully engage the viewer.

Premiere
Chases so many ideas that it threatens to spin out of control. But with our multiplexes stuffed with toxic Hollywood formula, it's a gift to find a ballsy movie that thinks it can do anything, and damn near does.
