Moviegoers are saying
Reception is sharply divided: reviewers call it a "long Revolutionary War-era 'Kings of Leon' musical" with a "made-for-television" look, yet several praise the costume embroidery and an ending that one viewer found "really heart felt." The musical format is the main fault line, with one reviewer saying it "felt so out of place when they started singing" and another arguing the 2-hour runtime "drags a lot." Faith-driven viewers and percussionists respond warmly, while skeptics see a holiday-season "buttering up" from Angel Studios.

“Drummer Boy” is the story of Angel Studios giving us a long Revolutionary War-era “Kings of Leon” musical. Music heads, see this one with the family, especially percussionists. The music is good—something your grandparents might put on during the holiday season. Just…

1 John 3:16, "This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters." This movie is beatiful, I cried, I laughed, I smiled and enjoyed every song and scene in this movie. I genuinely…

It's like describing a musical to someone who's never seen one before and asking them to make one

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, my only problem is that it is a musical. Personally think it would’ve been better if it wasn’t a musical. It just felt so out of place when they started singing. Granted this movie drags a lot. Don’t think it needed a 2 hour runtime. But the…

Haven't seen a good American Revolution war since The Patriot. Some of the songs were very unusual leading up to "Drummer Boy," song.
