Moviegoers are saying
Audiences are split on Angel Studios' Revolutionary War musical *Drummer Boy*, with fans calling it a moving, well-acted, heart-tugging holiday watch and skeptics saying the songs feel out of place and the two-hour runtime drags. Reviewers praise the costume embroidery and the emotional ending, but several argue the faith-driven messaging sometimes overtakes the story. The most enthusiastic viewers describe it as a must-see that left them crying and smiling.

“Drummer Boy” is the story of Angel Studios giving us a long Revolutionary War-era “Kings of Leon” musical. Music heads, see this one with the family, especially percussionists. The music is good—something your grandparents might put on during the holiday season. Just…

The leap in quality "faith-based" cinema has made in the past ten years is like going from walking barefoot to driving a car. That's not because today's movies are great cinema (Drummer Boy is amateurish in many ways), but because the movies of the past were little better…

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, my only problem is that it is a musical. Personally think it would’ve been better if it wasn’t a musical. It just felt so out of place when they started singing. Granted this movie drags a lot. Don’t think it needed a 2 hour runtime. But the…

1 John 3:16, "This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters." This movie is beatiful, I cried, I laughed, I smiled and enjoyed every song and scene in this movie. I genuinely…

The songs were good. The story was good. The acting was good. It was low budget, but it used it well. For a small film it was well done.
