Daleks come blazing onto the screen in glorious widescreen and full color, a rainbow of Blues and Reds and Black with Gold Trim, trying to dominate an already dead world by defeating the Thals, an equally bedazzled tribe of humans who love a good eyeshadow. I love the fact…

Although i like this Amicus movie it's certainly flawed. Basically what was initially seven 25 minute television episodes (almost three hours) is condensed into a mere 80 minute rehashed movie. Of course we lose many scenes of dialogue where nothing much happens but we…

Peter Cushing is mostly capable as the eponymous time wizard — but the source material is far superior. Also, that is the most abhorrent TARDIS interior of all time.

When the dalek said "begin the countdown" and then proceeded to count down from 100 out loud in the background of the scene was way funnier than it should have been. Also is it just me or does it feel like they literally forgot to film the ending?

Re-watched on Blu-Ray on 11th May 2023 as part of Hartnellthon, a marathon of early-to-mid 1960s Doctor Who Look, I know I’m supposed to chronologically watch this after The Time Meddler but the idea of bookending the three (and a bit) Hartnell seasons with the Cushing…

Ex-ter-min-ate. In an extremely family friendly and campy big screen adaptation of the popular BBC series Dr. Who serial The Daleks (1963-64), with no one's favorite of Doctor in Peter Cushing, so much so that Stuart Heritage of The Guardian adds, “to call him hammy would…

I don’t remember which came first for me as a kid: seeing the two Peter Cushing Dr. Who movies, or seeing the Doctor Who series.   Considering that Jon Pertwee was the Doctor when I first saw the show after PBS starting airing it in the US, I’m pretty sure the Cushing…
