hmm. unrealistic. if the bolsheviks really saw hot bourgeois omar sharif i simply dont think they would have decided to murder them all. lenin would take one look at him in a turtleneck and decide that capitalism is actually pretty groovy

Platypus Lord dislikedDoctor ZhivagoNot a fan of films that focus prominently on infidelity or morally depraved people (and nothing is sympathetic for these characters). But it's well-made, I'm sure, with lavish production and sweeping historical setting. Most interesting scene is that of Yuri/Pasha on the train.

Doesn’t compare to Lean’s other greats (Kwai & Arabia), it is still solid. Can’t say I loved it particularly but it’s far from bad. I found it to be overlong & felt the runtime by the end. A film I will probably have to revisit one day but for now it’s not high in my ratings
