Synopsis
Award-winning director Joe Wright envelops moviegoers in a symphony of emotions with music, romance, and beauty in Cyrano, re-imagining the timeless tale of a heartbreaking love triangle. A man ahead of his time, Cyrano de Bergerac (played by Peter Dinklage) dazzles whether with ferocious wordplay at a verbal joust or with brilliant swordplay in a duel. But, convinced that his appearance renders him unworthy of the love of a devoted friend, the luminous Roxanne (Haley Bennett), Cyrano has yet to declare his feelings for her — and Roxanne has fallen in love, at first sight, with Christian (Kelvin Harrison, Jr.).

Shoutout to joe wright period pieces about yearning… gotta be one of my favourite genders
•lily•Sep 3, 2021Just when you think you’ve seen it all, Joe Wright — one of the last true madmen in Hollywood cinema — rebounds from the folly of his “Woman in the Window” with a full-throated musical adaptation of “Cyrano de Bergerac” soundtracked by The National, shot during COVID on…
davidehrlichFeb 17, 2022Confirms my lifelong conviction nobody knows what love sounds like quite like The National

Ben Mendelsohn doing sort of a Russell Crowe Javert thing. do with that what you will!
fran hoepfnerJan 16, 2022To laugh in the face of Joe Wright’s vision of love is to reject a handmade Valentine’s Day card from your second grade crush. That card might have candy that comes slightly melted. It perhaps commits a bit too hard to its own shabbiness, when a store bought “Aladdin”…
theriverjordanFeb 26, 2022This did NOT need to be a musical, but alas it was and it threw everything off. Also probably one of the tackiest period pieces I’ve ever seen. Dinklage was fantastic in this, I’m shocked they gave the Oscar nom to Bardem instead of Dinklage. I’m mixed on this one but…

CYRANO is so unabashedly romantic that it certainly won’t work for everyone. It did melt my cyncical heart by the end but just barely. This is easily one of Peter Dinklage’s best performances. He’s so intelligent, funny & deeply empathetic. He broke my heart. Costumes are a…
Matt Negliatfw you want Atonement/Anna Karenina Joe Wright to show up and Pan Joe Wright sashays through the door instead.

Simply amazing. The emotion was there, the acting and cast were great, the music was so so good, the story was perfect. If you’re iffy about watching it because it’s a musical, just watch it; trust me. I’d 10/10 watch it again. Definitely one of those movies you’d want to…
DCDenise Christinedon't really enjoy musicals, but still wanted to see it. it isn't over the top. it is witty soulful and entertaining. I cried for many reasons. the war, the battle, perhaps the fact that my sister was murdered recently by a gunshot to chest.
RPRichard PerezI don't like musicals, but I loved this musical!

I love this story but know your own limits...don't take the lead in a musical if you can't really sing.
AEAmanda EI saw the commercials and expected for my heart to be stolen, to laugh and to cry. I did laugh but though the movie was absolutely beautiful, dancing, music score, colors and scenery it failed to capture by heart and when tragedy strikes I'm just not drawn in as much as I…
CHCami HallingIt was a musical that had sucky singers and it didn’t make you feel emotionally attached to the characters at all

For a musical, you'd think they'd get actors that can actually sing. The only one that could was the woman who played Roxanne. All the others were awful.
PPPamela PrestwichIt’s sad.
TJTracy JohnsonI really enjoyed this movie, even knowing how it was going to end!! The visuals are stunning and Peter Dinklage kills it as Cyrano!!
