Synopsis
Award-winning director Joe Wright envelops moviegoers in a symphony of emotions with music, romance, and beauty in Cyrano, re-imagining the timeless tale of a heartbreaking love triangle. A man ahead of his time, Cyrano de Bergerac (played by Peter Dinklage) dazzles whether with ferocious wordplay at a verbal joust or with brilliant swordplay in a duel. But, convinced that his appearance renders him unworthy of the love of a devoted friend, the luminous Roxanne (Haley Bennett), Cyrano has yet to declare his feelings for her — and Roxanne has fallen in love, at first sight, with Christian (Kelvin Harrison, Jr.).

Didn't know it was a musical and had no real expectations going into this but found it to be quite lovely. Dinklage is unbelievably good as always. Also didn't know that the guys from The National did the score, which made the music unusual for a film but also super familiar

I started the movie knowing nothing and I really enjoyed it, although some of the songs felt off and didn’t add to the plot that well. “Heaven is wherever I fall” was too repetitive to me. No happy ending, very French tragedy, so sad. 8.5/10
User user364694016 is "meh" onCyranoI remember this coming out and being interested by it. Honestly, not my favorite but I do think it had some touching moments. the song the solders sing going into battle genuinely moved me. Worth a watch if you like period piece musicals.
K8 is "meh" onCyranoThis has SO much potential. The acting was so well done, and the atmosphere and costuming were superb. But the music felt misplaced/lackluster for what it could have been.
