A movie where very old man Clint asks the ultimate question: why be a macho man when you can be a nice man?
Patrick WillemsSep 15, 2021In a world so impatient that people have started to whine about the injustice of movies playing in theaters for a few weeks before they (finally!) become available to watch at home, Clint Eastwood has spent the last 33 years waiting for the right time to make a sleepy,…
davidehrlichSep 18, 2021This pleasant and relaxing make-work project for its 91-year-old auteur is a good example of a movie whose flaws are the same as its virtues. For example, Clint is at least 20 years too old for this role, but if he was the “right” age this would just be a normal, boring…

More of an Eastwood text than any form of commercial movie. Even by his late standards, the extense Cry Macho acts like usual movie expectations is beside the point is impressive. Indeed, it is a movie predicted in strip down a certain allure of images. When it is was first…
critico y citricoSep 21, 2021Clint ends his run of movies wrestling with American institutions and symbols and the wounds/regret/people trying their best that are left in their wake with a surprisingly quaint and warm ode to looking at your meager surroundings and simply choosing to make them better.…

Nicecore. Clint Lasso. The kid is bad though.
matt lynchSep 19, 2021Aggressively terrible on almost every level. If any other filmmaker had created the exact same film (with the same shots, dialogue, acting, etc.), the reviews would be brutal. Eastwood’s presence and the film’s themes give some gravitas to the proceedings. But make no…
David ChenSep 17, 2021Clint Eastwood has been dying of old age in his films since before many of his current viewers were born. It would be fair to look at the last 35 years of the American great’s career, and make the assessment that nobody has even written so thorough a self-eulogy. But…

Eastwood has made some great movies but this is NOT it. It ressembles Gran Torino a little but misses everything, is slow, the acting is weird, the relationships empty and Eastwood starts to look and feel old, it is almost painful to watch him move on screen at his age…
It’s frustrating coming from two GREAT movies and then get this thing full of stereotypical things about Mexico. And why went to Mexico City and portraying that way. But the most sad is watch Mr. Eastwood form a serious age trying to dance when he has trouble to walk.

2/10 would have expected the character given the task to have more life although a frail Eastwood fails to deliver both strength and chemistry given this is a cowboy film would have hoped for better. Such a shame as Eastwood is a legend (still is).
In The Mule, Clint feels like an unchanged man in a changed world, a person stuck in the past ignoring the people around him, he wants to change. Here Clint is a changed man in a changed world, accepting and open to ideas from total strangers

usually love clint eastwood movies, always super simple but tell a great story. This one was fine, just a little boring, but i dont regret watching it or anything
It’s insane watch it, a young beautiful woman in Mexico hooks up with a old cowboy chicken master and a lil kid somehow becomes family! Makes no sense!!!

MKMonica KouznetsovI wanted to enjoy a bit of nostalgia for Clint Eastwood, but this movie was truly terrible. The dialog was awful. The acting was awful. And we're to believe that not one , but 2 middle aged women fall for 91 year old cowboy Clint?
KRKrissy Richthis was probably the most boring movie I've ever seen.
