Dario: So I’m going to make another movie with a killer in a trench coat stabbing women to death. This one is set at a bording school in Switzerland. Studio: Perfect. How much money do you—? Dario: But mostly it’s about a girl who psychically communicates with…
Patrick WillemsMay 17, 2017You know an Argento film is overstuffed when he brings in a narrator for exactly one line of unnecessary voiceover.
LizDec 28, 2020amazing that a simple italian pervert can make such extraordinary films

A monkey nurse seeks revenge with a straight razor and somehow that’s not the weirdest thing in this
JustyFeb 28, 2021The last 15 or so minutes of Phenomena are absolutely balls to the wall insanity, so much so that it almost makes you forget how tedious almost everything up until that point is. Also, theres a Motorhead needle drop in this that's so inappropriate and jarring that I can't…

Absolutely perfect. This is exactly what I'm looking for in a movie which is why I'm always mad at movies.
Branson ReeseOct 11, 2020“I am not schizophrenic, epileptic, or stoned!” A flawed masterpiece. Hellish acting from the supporting cast, random lines dubbed in Italian, and a questionable plot are multiple reasons to criticize Phenomena. Yet, there’s so much chaotic charm to this film that its…
sanFeb 23, 2018This movie just keeps getting better as I get older. I’ve always loved it, but on this rewatch I was just mesmerized throughout the entire thing. This is a surreal fairy tale nightmare masterpiece. The beauty that is this movie is almost indescribable. I love that opening…

not bad but also not good idk LMAAOO it’s a bit long and the reveal was pretty dumb but the ending was actually amazing and makes it worth watching at least once like this was such an experience for me inga is a BADDIEEEEEE 💅🏻🐒🙈🦍 i will never forget her 🤎
MovieDaddy dislikedPhenomenaIt’s really hard to find enjoyment in a movie whose music is so out of sync with anything else in the movie that you can’t figure out what the heck you’re watching. Contrapuntal music can work (see Reservoir Dogs), but this is a failure all around.
Quin likedPhenomenaI’ll have to watch it again sometime when my brother isn’t screaming nonstop in the other room
- Jacob Hall is "meh" onPhenomena
Dario Argento misses for the first time for me. The music choice in this was just absolutely garbage. There's one scene in particular where Connelly is creeping through the woods, and this techno beat starts playing and it took all the suspense away. Crazy ending tho
CvptvinHowdy likedPhenomenaI don't necessarily love this film quite yet, but it's getting a big upgrade. I forget how underrated Phenomena is when it comes to Argento. Jennifer controlling insects is weird but cool, and I love her companion, the monkey.
Caley St. John likedPhenomenaDecent, but questionable acting and pretty campy

Interesting movie, somewhat soiled by absolutely helpless protagonist and supporting characters and some incredibly bad acting. Never seen worse chase scenes / screams in my life. Still compelling though.
Alexa is "meh" onPhenomenaOk, but why did she have to swim in the corpse soup for that long? And why did it have to be chunky?
Mei dislikedPhenomenaWorst movie ever. Ew Ew Ew It’s been 8 years since my first watch and I am still traumatized

The whole of Phenomena is less than the sum of its parts, but the parts are often terrifying and exhilarating.
