as soon as this film ended i went online and enlisted in the US army. no child will ever suffer like this again on my watch
cameron fetterAug 25, 2013Come and See is a film I find almost impossible to review. Describing watching a film as an 'experience' often detracts from the quality of the piece, but going by the profound effect the film had on me I really feel no other word can do it justice. World War 2 films…

(guy who's still buzzing from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse) this is significantly less fun than Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

Francois Truffaut once said that it is impossible to make a truly anti-war film, because depictions of war are thrilling by their very nature. I know he said this because I’ve heard it quoted ten thousand times, always by people who are about to name a movie that is an…

CinemaVoid 🏴☠️Jul 31, 2020An apocalyptic nightmare of pure brutalizing evil shot and sequenced in intimate, hyperreal historical detail. Come and See is like watching the most horrible nightmare you could imagine brought to life. This film is one of the greatest horror movies of all time because, regardless of already being shot like other horror films, these events were real. Truly a masterpiece. 10/10
"Come and See" (1985), directed by Elem Klimov, is more than a war film; it is an unrelenting odyssey through the psychological horrors of war. This Soviet masterpiece strips away the veneer of heroic war narratives, laying bare the raw, unfiltered trauma experienced by those caught in the…
This was a blind buy for me since so many reviews said it was the most intense and disturbing war film they'd ever seen. The second half was significantly better than the first, and it was interesting seeing things from the Russian perspective. I dont hold it in as high regard as others tho.

Might be the most difficult WWII movie to sit through. Harrowing, unflinching, and absolutely terrifying in its portrayal of the Third Reich’s reign of terror in Soviet territory. There is a lot you can’t unsee from this.
A terrifying yet accurate portrayal of war. When it started I was expecting the usual anti-war film only to have all my expectations subverted. When the credits rolled, I was still glued to the screen and it felt like a job to even turn the movie off. A devastating masterpiece.
Davvero bello. È vecchiotto ma sembra esserci una bella produzione dietro. Alcune performance attoriali le ho trovate troppo caricaturali, altre come quella del protagonista, fantastiche. È molto crudo dato il tema trattato ma decisamente un ottimo film di produzione russa

What do you even say after watching this? It's definitely the most ruthless WW2 film I've seen as of yet. I can see now why it's an essential watch but also a one time experience that affects the rating for me personally. Time to watch something lighthearted to lift my spirits.
