Half Ray Harryahusen stop motion magic, half “who is that again?” Not sure if anyone on screen actually wants to be there, except the Kraken, that guy definitely wants to be there.
Joe AAug 20, 2015A throwback even at the time it was released, Desmond Davis's "Clash of the Titans" is a mythological tale of swords, sandals, and stop-motion spectacle. Eschewing "Star Wars" era special effects for Ray Harryhausen's hand-molded beasties, the film has a quaintness that…
Travis LytleJul 18, 2019An amazing collection of stop motion effects surrounded by the dreariest of movies.

A proper old fashioned adventure movie, telling the story of Perseus on his hero's journey to save a princess from the wrath of a vengeful God. Clash of the Titans keeps its tongue firnly in cheek, but gets full marks for really going all in with the premise. The story is…

Dale RangerJan 7, 2026In retrospect, it’s easy to look at something like this and dismiss it as outdated or even strange special effects by today’s standards. But that misses the point entirely. There’s a particular kind of craftsmanship here that really deserves appreciation. For god’s sake,…

Okay, I can be real: "Clash of the Titans" is not a 5-star movie, but it was such a seminal film for me when I would catch it on television as a child—it absolutely captured my imagination in much the same way as "Star Wars" or other sci-fi/fantasy fare of its era, and…
HKFanaticJul 14, 2026In the wake of the success of Star Wars, screenwriter Beverly Cross and stop-motion FX wizard Ray Harryhausen (Jason and the Argonauts) reunite for one last handcrafted children’s adventure swan song. Unfortunately, by 1981 everyone involved outside of Harryhausen seems a…

It was ok. Lowkey Booba (the owl) or whatever his name is carried the entire movie. Perseus would be NOTHING without him 😩😭 And Pegasus was so abused he deserved better :(
charming greek mythology movie a lot of the effects don’t look so good today but i think they did their best with what they had, the stop motion carried a lot of it the pacing was really slow but i enjoyed it medusa and the ferryman were baddies W bubo, he did all the work fr

Although the pacing can be slow at times, the story, and action are phenomenal. Without a doubt the best parts of the film are the stop-motion sequences done by the legendary Ray Harry Hausen. 8/10
An epic from a time before hollywood found it’s true footing in the mythological world. It’s filled with wonder and imagination for the limitations of the time.
