Half Ray Harryahusen stop motion magic, half “who is that again?” Not sure if anyone on screen actually wants to be there, except the Kraken, that guy definitely wants to be there.
Joe AAug 20, 2015A throwback even at the time it was released, Desmond Davis's "Clash of the Titans" is a mythological tale of swords, sandals, and stop-motion spectacle. Eschewing "Star Wars" era special effects for Ray Harryhausen's hand-molded beasties, the film has a quaintness that…
Travis LytleDec 10, 2023A proper old fashioned adventure movie, telling the story of Perseus on his hero's journey to save a princess from the wrath of a vengeful God. Clash of the Titans keeps its tongue firnly in cheek, but gets full marks for really going all in with the premise. The story is…

An amazing collection of stop motion effects surrounded by the dreariest of movies.
Justin DeclouxJan 7, 2026In retrospect, it’s easy to look at something like this and dismiss it as outdated or even strange special effects by today’s standards. But that misses the point entirely. There’s a particular kind of craftsmanship here that really deserves appreciation. For god’s sake,…
legolasNov 23, 2020found this on Netflix last night and showed it to the kids. predictably, they snickered at it and played on their phones and eventually fled the room altogether. they were utterly unreceptive to my running commentary, consisting as it did of pearls like “that’s Mickey…

The mythology of ancient Greece comes to life thru the innovative specials effects and stop motion animation of Ray Harryhausen. Clash of the Titans is another classic that I have surprisingly never seen, and I had a good time checking it out with my boys. I actually…
Justin PetersonAug 26, 2020the special effects in this are so cool and fun. can we please have stop motion monsters again?
cameron fetterJun 29, 2022Loved this as a kid and always thought it was older than it was. Really don't know how anyone can watch this and not be in awe of Ray Harryhausen. Not sure if they're still there but in 2008 I saw a bunch of these models at the film museum in Berlin. If you haven't seen it,…

It was ok. Lowkey Booba (the owl) or whatever his name is carried the entire movie. Perseus would be NOTHING without him 😩😭 And Pegasus was so abused he deserved better :(
charming greek mythology movie a lot of the effects don’t look so good today but i think they did their best with what they had, the stop motion carried a lot of it the pacing was really slow but i enjoyed it medusa and the ferryman were baddies W bubo, he did all the work fr

Although the pacing can be slow at times, the story, and action are phenomenal. Without a doubt the best parts of the film are the stop-motion sequences done by the legendary Ray Harry Hausen. 8/10
An epic from a time before hollywood found it’s true footing in the mythological world. It’s filled with wonder and imagination for the limitations of the time.
