Synopsis
Cheech & Chong’s Last Movie defies documentary expectations, offering a wildly imaginative take on genre convention; a true-life tale told through a mix of animation and archival madness, all underscored by a classic cinematic road trip comedy. Tracing the enduring legacy of pioneering comics Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong, the film features interviews, sketches, and never-before-seen footage spanning the duo’s five-decade career. Men just don’t make friends with each other like this anymore man
Haunted HippieMay 29, 2025Both a celebration and a reflective look back. It acknowledges their immense influence on comedy, music, and counter-culture, while also hinting at the personal toll that fame and creative differences can take. It’s a love letter to the fans, offering a chance to revisit…
imthatjeremyguyApr 29, 2025Truly quite wholesome with the cross-cultural and counter-cultural icons reminiscing and bickering like a polyamorous old married couple. Even as a documentary, it's such a fun and engaging journey into music history, Hollywood hobnobbing and legendary comedy. Not to…

Cheech & Chong were oddly part of my entire childhood up through high school where somehow we find another tie to Pee Wee Herman. This documentary is rich in individual history of each personality with some surprises around the corner that will have you in awe and…
MarkMay 29, 2025Terrific. Watching them actually argue out the old arguments is fascinating, and the historical context of who they were and how they came together is just great. I loved it. And there is also a scene in the film with a de-aging effect on both of them and it is the…
DrewMcWeenyAug 25, 2025"I quit school. I knew in my heart that the only thing I ever wanted to do was play guitar and smoke pot." - Tommy Chong I wouldn't exactly call those words to live by as it's not going to be a sustainable business model for everyone, but Cheech and Chong sure made it…

Viewed on OSBOX Cheech & Chong's Last Movie (2024) is a documentary on the iconic comedy duo's 5 decade career, and it's shot in the guise of a road trip as their driving along a desert highway. It's as if a "Memory Lane" is far too short of a trip to go through, and a…
Nuno CostaApr 26, 2025Belle lore, I grew up with a couple cheech and Chong films. Wasn’t supposed to be watching them but I did when I was younger lol. Like when I was around 8. My criticism for this is it’s more so a documentary than an actual film. Also the ending is super abrupt. Would have…

I had never seen a Cheech and Chong movie before so I thought it was entertaining and interesting to watch and learn about.
A gentle, amiable, truthful look at Cheech and Chong’s relationship and career. Earned many a laugh from both myself and the stranger in the seat beside me. Shared clips from their shows on stage, interviews from the past, and featured the real Cheech and Chong as they are now. Really worth seeing.
Metacritic
Every square inch of this picture is fascinating, whether for the fresh faces or those who have been fans of Cheech and Chong for years.
The overall effect is appropriately trippy, and revealing.
The documentary doesn’t quite cover everything — their collaborations with Joni Mitchell and Martin Scorsese go unmentioned, for example. This is still a rollicking account that will make even non-herbally-inclined viewers root for the fellows.
