- I love older women so I get it - However, the age gap was icky - Beautiful cinematography - Love the ending - A bit slow - Idk man it was good, I’m gay, I’m yearning, but I’m also feeling a bit 🫤 - Why does she have the exact same haircut as her daughter bro
D. Tabak lovedCarolPersonally this is my favourite lesbian movie. The cast was just perfect. Rooney and Cate fits perfectly. I need to mention it was quiet slow piece but the dramatic story force you to watch it till the end.

- ihatemichelle is "meh" onCarol
really wanted to like this. i think for a young queer person, it’s hard to be relatable. portrait of a lady on fire was extremely relatable, so the fact that it’s a period piece is not the issue. disappointed.
Ocean lovedCarolI watch it every Christmas as if it was my first time watching it, and i get the same feelings every end of a year.
Si Yi lovedCarolMerry Christmas to women! everyone else move along.

The experience of watching Carol is like being pulled into a different place, real and not real, like the best movies, like being in love.

Haynes understands that swooningly beautiful traditional technique bolstered by thrilling performances creates the greatest impact. He has made a serious melodrama about the geometry of desire, a dreamy example of heightened reality that fully engages emotions despite the exact calculations with which it's been made.

Like Far From Heaven, Carol mines society’s narrow-mindedness and the dangers of living a double life. But what was true more than a half century ago remains true now: The heart wants what it wants, society and propriety be damned.
