sound of freedom son or cabrini daughter
AvaMay 30, 2025Say what you want about Sound of Freedom and Angel Studios, but between that movie and this one, you really must go a long way and be in denial to accept the man really knows how to shoot a film, and differently to a lot of popular Christian filmmakers working right now…

"FOR ONE LITTLE WOMAN, YOU MAKE A LOT OF NOISE." If Angel Studios and the director of Sound of Freedom's involvement with Cabrini has turned you off from seeing it (I suspect it has since only a couple of people I follow on letterboxd have reviewed it) please don't let…

jcdominicMay 5, 2024It’s so silly that Americans still do this to immigrants to this day. They can’t seem to fathom that everyone living in America that aren’t native come from a family that have emigrated from another country. They did it to the Irish, the Italians, the Japanese and Chinese,…

Conventional; interesting; overlong; overscored; pro-immigration; slow; well-shot.
joshrowleyMar 9, 2024The cognitive dissonance of the target audience (religious conservative) is amazing; to sit in the theatre and applaud this film for stating the value that European immigrants brought to the development of North America while not one person of colour is visible. To say that…

Although it is an interesting story, this movie dragged and was slow and painful to watch. There were some sparks of life here and there but they were quickly extinguished with the long drawn out scenes of nothing.

if this got the same backing as oppenheimer it would do just as good!! beautiful, heartfelt, and inspirational
Very well made biopic showing the persistence of America’s first saint in her efforts to humanize Americans before there was knowledge of what was right. Powerful story that pulled in the audience by the heart.I didn’t feel the pacing was slow especially given what this was about

One of the better “religious propaganda” movies out there. Delivers historical content without forcing the Mother Cabrini’s ideals down the viewers’ throats. Beautifully shot, solid acting, and an ethereal soundtrack to set the tone. Nothing astounding but totally worth a watch.
This is a great film, but not a true saint story. The Catholic faith of Mother Cabrini is forgotten, and was substituted for classic Hollywood virtues and anti-patriarchal, woman-power, pro-immigrant preaching. It’s a good story, but not truly a movie about Mother Cabrini

This is an epic movie about woman with epic faith, hope and tenacity! Timing was impeccable for showing it on International Women’s day. I bought 15 tickets for women in our parish and we had one of their hubbies join us! What a way to celebrate diversity since we are…
LDLynn DiucoNot once did this move seem long. For a movie that is almost 2 1/2 hours, I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen. Cabrini was done well with an amazing cast and storyline. This movie should be inspiring to everyone, especially females.

Excellent movie of this great first Saint of the US. The actors were excellent and deserve an award for their performances as well as the movie itself. I would have liked to have seen Mother Cabrini’s relationship with the Lord. It was the Lord who gave her the…
ACAnthony ConteSometimes we need an inspirational film like this. Excellent film, great job by all the actors.
SSSean SalasAbsolutely great film! the casting for Cabrini was amazing and the film itself was fantastic. The ending felt a little rushed but the rest of the movie made up for it. This was an epic movie.
