Synopsis
After years away from the cage, a once-feared MMA champion is pulled back in for the fight of his life when his younger brother is put in danger. Reuniting with the trainer who once made him a legend, he commits to one final showdown against the reigning title-holder — a brutal fighter determined to dismantle the ex-champ’s legacy in front of the world. Pushed to his breaking point, the contender’s stakes are simple: win, or lose everything he’s built. Starring Daniel MacPherson, Luke Hemsworth, and Oscar® winner Russell Crowe.

I was in a small town with nothing to do, so killed an evening by going to the nearest AMC. I was enticed by this because I liked the idea of a B-movie set in the world of MMA that featured Russell Crowe as the crusty old trainer. Boy, it sure hit the spot. If you're in the…

FFChampionApr 9, 2026Really awkward acting, dialogue, and plot points plus some truly bizarre story beats, characters and flashbacks would be enough to doom any movie. This one then decided to spend the last 20 minutes on maybe the best shot MMA fight sequence I’ve ever seen to the point where…

ultimately a more melodramatic, Australian riff on Kickboxer — surprised this got a theatrical release as it feels very DTV (not in a negative way, necessarily) but I’m not going to complain about watching Bren Foster fight on a huge AMC screen and the training montage set…

Owen LePlavyApr 14, 2026Time is moments and memories. If you don't take the moment, you don't get the memory. It’s so easy to screw up a sports film. Most of them fall into the same cheesy underdog trap with predictable montages and forced inspiration. Beast mostly avoids that trap. It’s a solid,…

I wish I watched you me and Tuscany instead of this. The dialogue is quite awkward and overall it’s way over dramatic. Something I thought was really weird was when Patton went to his brother on the boardwalk and told him he needed help (probably talking about therapy).…
gretchyApr 11, 2026Australian sports film Beast is a total ripoff of the 6th film in the Rocky Franchise Rocky Balboa. This movie which instead of boxing is set in the world of MMA follows a retired but legendary fighter who is forced to come back to the fight game to fight a younger champion…
Marqus RiceApr 10, 2026I mean, the final sequence of this movie contains probably one of the best fighting scenes I’ve ever witnessed. I don’t think I’ve felt this happy watching a mid movie in quite a bit. Dialogue is pretty clunky for a lot of the time, with some story beats that weren’t…

6.2/10 The action/fight scenes are great but the plot is generic and predictable. I wish Russel Crowe’s character had more to do because he is mostly pissed off the entire movie. The villain was kinda boring. Not much else to say. The action was rare but when it happened it was great and the rest…

This movie had me questioning “what’s going on?” In the beginning but it had you wanting more. I would recommend this movie to watch. Had my heart pumping.
SDStephanie DeAvilaThe beginning had me thinking this was about to be an action packed movie.. WRONG. The movie was free.. so i guess that was the only win. The story made no sense, the action wasn’t enough. The same okd, same okd.
MTMarsha ThorneyGreat movie. Loved it!
