˗ˏˋ suspirliam ˊˎ˗May 19, 2021Sheen’s James Dean imitation is really great but the thing i love about Badlands the most is Spacek’s voiceover. Her voice lends the movie a dreamlike feel, there’s such a contrast between her tone and the violence we’re witnessing on screen.

Jimmy Cricket likedBadlandsProbably Terrance Malik’s best; I’ve never been a fan of his work, but this one’s different. There’s a normal amount of dialogue in it instead of having little to none. It’s very well shot but isn’t solely about the visuals. It’s vivid the inspirations this had on True Romance.
James New lovedBadlandsAmazing performances from both leads. It’s strangely funny, that might just be my interpretation. Characters are quite often very simplistic and organised, in a good way. The dynamic works very well and the narration feels fitting. Beautiful score as well
