John Carpenter is the best director of all time.

Patrick WillemsNov 21, 2013An interracial gang wages an all-out assault on a police station. In their way is a street smart cop, a hottie with a nice rack, and a con who really wants a smoke. A blood-oath. An ice cream truck. A Real Housewife of Beverly Hills's last scoop of vanilla. A father's swift…

GroovemanOct 18, 2021Every time I see this I get more convinced that there's never been anything as cinematic as those pieces of paper getting hit in the first attack. A masterpiece of spare down understatement. A very elaborate thrill machine that is pitched as low key as possible and it is…

- Johnson C. Blanchard lovedAssault on Precinct 13
John Carpenter excels at making movies in claustrophobic conditions. This is another exemplary showing of that skill. Darwin Joston steals the show with his dark humor and scene presence. Somehow I'm glad that at the end there is not a gratuitous kiss with the girl (fan service)
Ryan Tower likedAssault on Precinct 13Enjoyable, realistic, decades ahead of its time. A great debut for John Carpenter. The movie is fun but the score, actors, & concepts far outweigh the overall product. It’s a snapshot into the 70’s w a message about guns. Hero’s “coolness” vs a violent gang First time watched
James New likedAssault on Precinct 13I love John Carpenter’s hands-on style of filmmaking. His direction and score are both amazing and it’s perfectly paced. Feels like a feature length version of that one sequence in ‘The Terminator’. Great film, cannot understate how good the score is

Extremely effective siege flick with tight cinematography and a memorable score. I liked the lack of backstory, but needed a little more context on the clearly left-wing — inspired at the very least — militia and their motives.
Edward Kronkvist likedAssault on Precinct 13For being the legendary film director John Carpenter’s first film he stuck the landing. Great special effects, cool story, catchy sound track and overall super entertaining.
Vogue Italia is "meh" onAssault on Precinct 133/18/26: I hate John Carpenter. He got lucky with The Thing and In The Mount of Madness. He makes such dull “hmnheeeugh” boy action movies and is such a mysoginist.
- Arsal likedAssault on Precinct 13
Tense, stripped-down, and brutal. Carpenter crafts pure, relentless tension with minimal resources. It’s a raw siege thriller that still hits hard despite its age.
Figo Nyberg likedAssault on Precinct 13Enjoyable movie with a lot of action. Great start for being John Carpenter first film.
Nothuman likedAssault on Precinct 13Very entertaining overall good time
