John Carpenter is the best director of all time.
AleeexNov 21, 2013An interracial gang wages an all-out assault on a police station. In their way is a street smart cop, a hottie with a nice rack, and a con who really wants a smoke. A blood-oath. An ice cream truck. A Real Housewife of Beverly Hills's last scoop of vanilla. A father's swift…

John Carpenter excels at making movies in claustrophobic conditions. This is another exemplary showing of that skill. Darwin Joston steals the show with his dark humor and scene presence. Somehow I'm glad that at the end there is not a gratuitous kiss with the girl (fan service)
Enjoyable, realistic, decades ahead of its time. A great debut for John Carpenter. The movie is fun but the score, actors, & concepts far outweigh the overall product. It’s a snapshot into the 70’s w a message about guns. Hero’s “coolness” vs a violent gang First time watched

For being the legendary film director John Carpenter’s first film he stuck the landing. Great special effects, cool story, catchy sound track and overall super entertaining.
3/18/26: I hate John Carpenter. He got lucky with The Thing and In The Mount of Madness. He makes such dull “hmnheeeugh” boy action movies and is such a mysoginist.
