RyanApr 11, 2024This movie f🤩king rips. Went into this completely blind with the exception that someone had said the trailer looked like an A Quiet Place clone (derogatory in their eyes, a compliment in mine). I think most will come away thinking that it is partially that, with a healthy…

8.0 - This was a blast. A little bit A Quiet Place, a little bit Aliens. Weird creatures, cool traps, bloody fights, a little emotion, strong tension, & great performances from all 3 leads. It’s very dark visually, & the occasional shaky cam was bad, but those are minor issues.
Jen lovedArcadianThis movie gave me such anxiety. It was slow at first but once it got going it was great! I was fighting tears at one point I was so on edge. I did not expect to love this movie as much as I did!
Cinematic Joshua dislikedArcadianAn infuriatingly simple Creature Feature that skimps on any plot, setting, or character development.

Expected more out of this.
Emilie is "meh" onArcadianHahaha roblox monsters😂😂
zack likedArcadianI went into Arcadian not expecting much and knowing nothing about it, but I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. The actors were great and really carried the film. It’s not perfect — some character motives felt unclear — but overall, it was a solid watch.

5/10 I watched Arcadian and I didn’t really like it. The idea was cool, but the story felt slow and kinda confusing. I couldn’t really connect with the characters, and even Nicolas Cage didn’t make it much better. Just not my type.
Jolyn dislikedArcadianSome of the scenes are so dark you can barely see anything. There's nothing of substance to the characters to make me empathise with them so the ending felt meaningless to me.
Maria Fernanda likedArcadianLos monstruos son diferentes y con buenos efectos

I really don't know why Nicholas Cage played in this rather low budget film, he must be desperate. Besides the okay acting that was rather heartfelt, this terrible CGI movie is rather disappointing. It may have been better if they put more effort into the creatures.
BGBruce GouletHad so much potential, but fell short with the clarity of the monsters and half the scenes were shot in the dark

It’s an effective little thriller that knows the conventions and doesn’t stray too far from them.

Arcadian is more than a mere horror film; it’s a haunting meditation on the fragility of humanity and the enduring power of hope in the face of despair. It turns out that mixing heart with horror still works.

Most of Arcadian’s potential lies in its performances (including compelling turns from Martell and Soverall) and the design of the monsters.
