Synopsis
Zombie movies are cool. Holiday movies are cool. High school musicals are cool. Anna and the Apocalypse is the unholy genre mash-up that begs the question: why not all three? This rowdy zom-com takes place in a small Scottish town, where Anna (Ella Hunt) and her teenage cohorts go from trying to survive school to singing and dancing their way through a full-blown outbreak of the undead. Funny, festive, gory, and toe-tappingly catchy, this movie proves that the best defense against a zombie apocalypse is a smile and a song. And also: weapons.

I LOVED this...until I didn't. At some point, the movie runs out of steam, but those first few musical numbers are so giddy and fun that it's hard not to embrace this.

This movie is what happens when a family is fighting over what to watch and each member wants a drastically different genre. Comedy, horror, musical, drama. Cheezy but engrossing, it’s earned its place in the holiday horror catalogue.
Morgan likedAnna and the Apocalypsecute concept, i enjoyed the cartoonish villain’s songs, he was the most entertaining part it was pretty goofy and all over the place but fun enough to watch pacing leaves some to be desired, i feel like stuff could’ve been explained more the emotional moments didn’t feel earned

It was kinda boring
brielle likedAnna and the Apocalypsethis was good & unique! musical + horror aren't typically two genres you'd put together, but i think it works here with the overall comedic aspect. i was sort of surprised by how many main characters died, but wasn't against it. lots of laughs all throughout! very silly and fun.

Ok, so maybe a couple of the songs were catchy. It might have a huge following that I’m unaware of, however, I didn’t really enjoy it.

I get the appeal of this but it really didn’t do much for me. The songs were pretty catchy but it was just a bit too goofy for me (and I’m not against goofy). But I’ll give it a 👍🏻 because for what it was trying to be, it did a decent job. Just didn’t appeal to me.

It's like high school musical switched genres and tried to do an homage to shaun of the dead. Cast could really belt and the musical numbers were strong and catchy. Choreography was a little off but it could've been on purpose since they are just supposed to be school kids.…
