The ProjectionistOct 5, 2019The back-to-back combo of this with The NeverEnding Story made me realize that fantasy/adventure films aren’t gone, they’ve just been scooped up by children’s animation. Which is something of a bummer- but not completely awful! At least the genre still exists. This was…

So. Much. Fur.
mariaSep 30, 2019Nothing I can say about this would be as savage or direct as the fact that my daughter, age 6, turned to me at a crucial point in the climax and said, "I think I've seen this before."

It was the last movie I saw before my local dollar theater closed because of Covid. I wasn’t expecting much but it made me a emotional mess. The music is beautiful and the animation is gorgeous as expected because it’s DreamWorks. And the story is pretty good ngl.
it was cute, the soundtrack was nice makes me wanna listen to the violin more, i’m afraid i did laugh at the cringy jokes, ngl kinda scared of the parent yetis 😭😭

Abominable is a charming, predictable but enjoyable animated film. Strong visuals, heartfelt family themes, and accurate violin animation stand out. Not very original and one character is annoying but overall it’s a sweet likeable adventure worth recommending. 7/10
Did this movie make me wanna play the violin on a roof top? Yes and I did also get the sheet music from the movie so I am now playing this on a roof top. Great movie 👍

This movie is adorable! Totally recommend! I did tear up at certain points, and I love the plot and the background ☺️ Everest is Adorable 🥰
Surprisingly sweet with great lessons in grief, gratefulness, family and bullying. Definitely will rewatch. Scene with’ Fix You’ got me.

Very funny, and not as cheesy as I thought it would be. Great message, fantastic soundtrack, and beautiful locales. Perfect movie for you and the kids, or if you’re looking for a light-hearted movie to reset your cold dead heart.
There was something truly beautiful about this movie and for that, I'd give it a million stars
Metacritic
If you like E.T. and Bumblebee, chance are you’ll have a good time with this slightly homogenous but sweet-natured kids’ adventure.
There’s some gorgeous animation and impeccable camerawork on display here. But as George Lucas’ 2015 fiasco Strange Magic demonstrated, beautifully executed visuals will get you only so far. There’s no emotional core to Abominable, which mostly proceeds at a glacial pace as the travelers’ journey across China.
It’s never too early to introduce your kids to the magic and emotion of the monster movie.
